Obituary published on Legacy.com by Freeman Mortuary - Jefferson City on Oct. 1, 2025.
Diana Marilyn Sanders, lovingly known as Dee Dee and Grandma D, passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 21, 2025, at the age of 60. Diana lived a life of laughter, love and sassiness.
She was born on September 16, 1965, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of Roger and Rosetta (Willis) Woggerman.
Diana dedicated her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. As a CNA with Hospice Compassus, she gave compassionate, meticulous care to those in their final moments, offering dignity and comfort when it mattered most. Her heart for caregiving extended beyond her work-her family, her friends, and even the stray dogs she so often rescued and welcomed into her home all knew her extraordinary love.
Diana found joy in creativity and expression. Whether painting, crocheting, or belting out a favorite song during karaoke nights at Chick's, she had a gift for bringing color and laughter to those around her. Music of all genres was the soundtrack of her life, and she enjoyed relaxing with her favorite shows, like Big Brother. She also had a sweet spot for life's simple pleasures-makeup, clothes, chocolate, Red Lobster, and good barbecue always brought her delight.
Family was Diana's greatest treasure. She adored the holidays, filling her home with laughter, warmth, and the smells of her favorite dishes-especially her famous green bean casserole and dirt pudding. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who instilled confidence in her children, celebrated every milestone, and supported their dreams with unwavering pride. Countless memories were made in her company, where she was always the life of the party-sassy, hilarious, a great listener, and someone whose magnetic personality drew people in.
Diana will be remembered for her joy, her kindness, her love of animals, and most of all, her deep devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on in the laughter she sparked, the love she gave, and the memories she leaves behind.
Survivors include her children, Adam Sanders, Andrea (Andrew) Amos, and Alanna (Marc) Johnson; her partner, Stephen Gray; three beloved grandchildren, Lydia, Jordan, and Liliana Sanders; one sister, Linda Rowe (Bob); one brother, Mark Schuff; and her many dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
She is preceded in death by her son, Kevin Sanders; her parents, Roger and Marilyn Woggerman.
A celebration of life service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2025, at Freeman Mortuary with the Reverend Trevor Dancer officiating.
