Our “Nana,” Diana Marie Schmidt, while surrounded by her family at home, went to meet her Lord and Savior on Saturday, September 13, 2025.

Diana was born on October 15, 1943, in Mesa, Arizona to Delbert and Anna Edgmon. She grew up in the Mesa-Chandler area of Arizona on a Dairy Farm with her parents and siblings: older brother Jerry, younger brother Pete, and younger sister Anita. After graduating from high school in 1962, she moved with her family to McIntosh, New Mexico. There she met the love of her life, Ronald Schmidt. They were married on April 2, 1964, and for 61 years they worked their farm and raised their family.

Nana was met in heaven by her parents, Delbert and Anna Edgmon, siblings Pete Edgmon and Anita Zielenski, sister in-law Geneva Crawford, grandson Timothy Trujillo, and many friends and family.

She’s waiting by the riverside for her husband Ronald Schmidt of McIntosh New Mexico, her son Troy of Capitan New Mexico with his son Adam Ray; Michelle and Thomas of McIntosh, New Mexico with her children, Diana “Denise”, husband Joseph and their children Caden Joseph, Daylen Denise, Paysen Sage and Javen Lucas of Torreon, New Mexico; Timothy’s children Chase Ernest, Chance Jake, Aubrey Elise and Alaina Rae; Shaelynn Trujillo of McIntosh and children Laticia Marie, Marissa Lynn and Mia Lavay. Annette and Bobby of McIntosh, with her children Makandle and Robert of Wickenburg, Arizona, and their children Stetson Lane and Presley Rose, her son Jon-Houston, and his son Waylon Ray. Her brother, Jerry, and Dawn of Minnesota, including the many nieces, nephews, and those who were embraced as her own.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Estancia, 301 8th St, Estancia, NM 87016, with the Viewing and Visitation beginning at 10:00 am and the Funeral service at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow the funeral at the McIntosh Cemetery.

Thank you for being with us in celebrating Nana’s life.
