Diane Marion Baylous

Diane Marion Isaacson Baylous was born in Devil's Lake, ND, to Marion Louise and Swen Chester Isaacson. The family relocated to Washington State and eventually settled in Vancouver where Diane spent her childhood. As a young girl, she loved playing with her siblings and neighborhood friends, baking with her mother, and caring for her dolls.

In high school, Diane met the love of her life, Michael Wheaton Baylous. Diane was a graduate of Hudson's Bay High School. Diane and Mike were married on October 17, 1955, and together they raised four children, one son and three daughters, on their family diary farm. For over 30 years, Diane was a devoted wife and mother, staying home to care for her children and teaching them valuable skills such as canning, baking, sewing, embroidery, candle making and other crafts. She was an artist, talented painter, avid gardener, and known for her creativity and industrious spirit.

A lifelong member of the Lutheran church, Diane was active in her faith community and often served in children's ministry. She never met a stranger and had a heart full of kindness for everyone she encountered. In addition to her work at home, Diane dedicated 10 years to serving at the Church of God Kingsway Learning Center. Later she worked at the Hazel Dell Post Office.

Diane is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Michael Baylous; her children Mikell Scott, Gary {Audrey} Baylous, Jamie Floch, and Jacque Bauman. As well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family members who love her dearly. Diane's warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A memorial service celebrating Diane's life will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, 11:00 am, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 905 NW 94th Street, Vancouver, WA 98665. All who knew and loved Diane are welcome to attend. Reception to follow at the church.
