Diane Marie Berneman (Bonjour), 61, of Mason City, passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave., with Pastor Jeff Dahlin officiating. A visitation will be held an hour prior. Inurnment will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery at a later date. Casual attire is requested by the family. 

Diane was born on June 9, 1964 the daughter of Bernard and Margaret "Peggy" (Moore) Berneman in Mason City, Iowa. She graduated from Mason City High School in 1982. Following high school, Diane worked for many years at FRC before starting at Hy-Vee East working for 15 years in the scanning and advertising department as well as checking and on-line shopping.

Diane loved riding Harleys and went to Sturgis for many years. She loved to travel, visiting many states and taking a cruise to Alaska and several to the Caribbean. Diane enjoyed going to concerts. She was also a fan of Iowa Hawkeye basketball and the WNBA.

Diane loved family, she considered her nieces and nephews her children. She also loved her dogs Winston and Ace.

Those thankful for having shared in Diane's life include her sisters: Debra (Robert) Tuttle, Cathy (Dale) Rogers, Sister-in-law Patsy Berneman, two nephews: Shawn Rockwell, Jason (Dana) Rockwell, niece: Karen (Berneman) England (Friend Chris), Hilary True-Carpenter and many more great-nieces and great-nephews.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brothers; Bill and Dale Berneman, nephew; Michael Carpenter, great-nephew; Hunter True and faithful pets Winston and Ace.

Memorials may be directed to the Gray Warriors, in care of the family, an organization which provides support to individuals with brain tumors.
