Diane Lynn Gottschling Bradley, age 80, of Cherryville, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center. She was born July 30, 1944, in Woodbury, New Jersey to the late Carl Henry and Sarah Devine Gottschling. She received her Bachelor of Nursing from Alfred University in Alfred, NY and completed her clinicals at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. Her practice of Nursing included Public Health, Long Term Care, and many years in her husband’s family practice. Diane was a faithful member of Cherryville First Presbyterian Church where she was active in many church affairs. She sang in the church choir for several years, served on the C.A.R.E. team, bereavement team, Pastor search committee, Women of the Church, and was a member of the Sally Quinn Sunday School Class. She also loved to travel and she and George were fortunate to have traveled many cruises in this hemisphere during recent years. Diane’s greatest passion was the love for her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul H. Gottschling.

Mrs. Bradley is survived by her husband of 58 years, Dr. George Lee Bradley, Jr. Together they parented four children: Maureen Lynda Powell (Paul) of Kannapolis, Erik Douglas Bradley (Matthew) of Rockwall, TX, Megan Joelle Poole (Ryan) of Vale, and Andrew Laird Bradley (Susie) of Belmont. They were also blessed with three grandchildren, Lynzie Nicole Gehring (Cody) of Kings Mountain, Bradley Scott Jamison of Maiden, and Abigail Grace Breland of Vale; and two great grandchildren, Hazlee Rose and Kinzlee Rose Gehring of Kings Mountain. She is also survived by her siblings, Ronald Gottschling of Woodbury Heights, NJ and Linda Anne McLaughlin of Sea Isle City, NJ; and brother-in-law, Nicholas Bradley of Millville, NJ.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 3:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Debbie Lesenger and Rev. Dr. Billy T. Lowe officiating. Inurnment will take place after the service at the Columbarium Church Memorial Garden.

The family will be receiving friends Saturday from 1:00 to 2:30 PM prior to the service in the church sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Endowment Fund of First Presbyterian Church OR to Medical and Mortuary Mission of First Presbyterian, both at 107 W. Academy St. Cherryville, NC 28021.
