Diane Carpenter, of North Brunswick transitioned to her heavenly home, safely in God's arms on Tuesday, April 2nd at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was blessed to be 68 years old.
Born in
Bailey, North Carolina, her family moved to New Jersey at an early age where she attended the East Brunswick school system. After graduating, she moved to New Brunswick and then North Brunswick where she has lived for the last 15+ years.
Diane enjoyed working as a Certified Nursing Assistant at several nursing homes throughout central New Jersey. She also worked in the New Brunswick school system as a bus aid for many years.
Diane was an active member of the Eternal Life Christian Center in Somerset, where she was a member of the Usher Board and enjoyed bible studies and retreats. She also enjoyed going out to eat, watching Family Feud, listening to religious music and most of all spending time with her beloved family and friends. Her Christian teachings taught her about the power of our Savior. She was nurturing to all of those that met her with a sweet and gentle spirit. Her laughter and joy of life was contagious and shined brightly.
She is predeceased by her father, William Carpenter and her mother, Flossie Eaddy Carpenter - 4 brothers, Cleo, William, James and Nathaniel Carpenter; and 1 sister, Rosa Lee Dickerson.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her daughters and son-in-law, Lakisha Carpenter and Shirley Carpenter, both of North Brunswick, and Demetria Clark (husband, Quincy) of Burlington; brother, John Carpenter (wife Paulette) of
Littleton, North Carolina; sisters, Doretha Carroll of New Brunswick and Florine Foster (husband, Zachary) of South River; grandchildren Quaneeka, Yamika, Yakira, Tynaria, Tyquan, Kiara, Janiya, Tamia, King and Karter; great-grandchildren Nirvana, Ariya, Bria, Messiace, Quasar and Siyana. Along with a host of nieces and nephews as well as her many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19th at 10 AM at the Eternal Life Christian Center, 322 Franklin Boulevard, Somerset with services at 11 AM. Burial to follow in Franklin Memorial Park, North Brunswick.
Funeral services are being held under the professional direction of the Gleason Funeral Home, Somerset.
