Jim Carpenter

Jimmy Doyle Carpenter, age 91, of Muleshoe, Texas, died Friday, March 13, 2026 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born November 15, 1934 in Stegall, Texas to Martin Lewis and Minnie Elizabeth (Mowrey) Carpenter. He married Frankie Pierce in Bailey County on June 6, 1959.

Jimmy was saved at the age of 7, and was a faithful Christian. He worked for the Highway Department for many years and farmed as well. His interest in cars led him to build a 1929 Model A from the ground up. Jimmy liked to watch comedies, Wheel of Fortune and John Wayne westerns. He loved to walk everywhere and pick up golf balls at the Country Club. In his 20's, Jimmy was an ordained Deacon and was a member of Hicks Baptist Church, Trinity Baptist Church and finally Calvary Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Gertrude Carpenter, Bonnie Carpenter, Eva Dale Carpenter and Hazel Carpenter; five brothers, Lloyd Carpenter, Harold Carpenter, Newel Carpenter, Donnie Carpenter and Bob Carpenter.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frankie; his three sons, Jeffery Carpenter and his wife, Zanea of Muleshoe, Texas, Joseph Carpenter and his wife, Janie of Muleshoe, Texas and Jeremy Carpenter of Plainview, Texas; and his three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
