Timothy Meeks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ellis Funeral Home - Muleshoe on Feb. 26, 2026.
Timothy Scott Meeks, age 69, of Farwell, Texas, died Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at his home. He was born October 14, 1956 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Leon C. and Delores Ann (Goldsmith) Meeks. He married Tori Renee Hardage in Oklahoma Lane, Texas on July 23, 1982.

Tim was a farmer through and through. He was raised in Farwell, Texas where he grew up helping on the family farm. He enjoyed playing in the dirt and growing vegetables in his little garden starting at the age of nine. He went to Farwell schools where he graduated salutatorian of his class in 1975. He continued to work with his family tending to their land and growing many different crops throughout his life. He started courting his wife, Tori, in 1982 following a long love letter written by Tim. They got married shortly after in 1982, and even then, the date of the wedding revolved around the harvest. They had three sons together over the course of their 43 years of marriage. During that time, Tim loved to do many things other than farming. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and spending time drinking coffee, and conversing with his many friends. When first meeting Tim, many people thought he was quiet and stoic. However, once he started talking, everybody would learn that he is quite the opposite. He loved to tell stories about every thing he learned. Whether it was his time doing odd jobs to scrape together a few nickels for a pack of .22 bullets, or to teach you how to find water with two green sticks, there wasn't much he couldn't teach you and you would probably be dying of laughter by the end of it. Later in life, he became known as "Papa" to Buster, Cole and Cooper. He loved to show his grandchildren all the things he loved. Tim always like to stay busy. When he wasn't farming, he was spending time with his friend, Jeff, tinkering on some projects in the Barn. And even during his last few years, he didn't let anything stop him from doing the things he loved. In the end, he passed peacefully surrounded by friends and loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Tim is survived by his wife, Tori; his three sons, Landon Meeks and his wife, Kalee of Farwell, Texas, Brian Meeks of Farwell, Texas and Seth Meeks and his wife, Kenzie of Lubbock, Texas; three grandchildren, Buster, Cole and Cooper; and his four brothers, Wade Meeks and his wife, Rica of Rhea, Texas, Steve Meeks and his wife, Cindy of Farwell, Texas, Matt Meeks and his wife, Shelly of Rhea, Texas and Mark Meeks and his wife, Mary Beth of Houston, Texas.

The family suggests memorial be sent to the Hope Lodge, 3511 10th Street, Lubbock, Texas, 79415
