Diane Margaret Clay passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, in Anchorage, Alaska, at the age of 73. She was born on December 30, 1951, in Providence, Rhode Island.
She worked for 30 years for the State of Alaska as an Environmental Services Foreman, Local 71, at the Ted Stephens Anchorage International Airport. Diane was well respected by her crew for her leadership qualities and received numerous accolades for her hard work and dedication from her supervisors.
Diane was an avid cook; she took joy in serving family and friends her delicious creations. Diane had an adventurous spirit, finding solace and tranquility in fishing, the thrill of motorcycle riding, the challenge of cross-country skiing, and the companionship of her cherished pets.
She was preceded in death by her father Leo Gladu, her mother June Anderson, and her oldest brother Ian Hawthorne. She is survived by her two younger brothers Mark Gladu and Michael (Willene) Gladu.
Certainly, those that knew her well understood Diane's life was not always an easy one or a perfect one, but she faced it all with a sense of optimism and humor, a strength that cannot be forgotten.
So just as the northern lights dance across the Alaskan sky, she is so dearly loved and missed. Diane's spirit, like the light, will never fade but will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind. God Bless.
