Diane Ruth Evans

A time for remembering and celebrating the life of Diane R. Evans, age 82, of Fairmont, MN, will be 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2025, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairmont. Diane passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family. The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Diane was born on December 10, 1943, at home on a farm near Welcome, Minnesota, to Lester and Ruth (Benck) Philipp. She attended Blue Earth Highschool and graduated with the class of 1961. Diane later married John Evans on April 14, 1963, and together they raised two sons, Todd and Brent.
Diane dedicated 42 years of her life to caring for others as a nurse before retiring in 2005. Outside of her career, she found great joy in cooking, baking, and canning. She loved decorating her home for every season and enjoyed playing bingo. Above all else, "Grandma Diane" cherished time spent entertaining and making memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Diane is survived by her husband, John Evans; her sons Todd Evans and Brent Evans, both of Blue Earth; three grandchildren Jesse (Wendy) Jacob, and Jayden (Tyler); three great-grandchildren, Shelby, Jackson, and Willow; and two step great-grandchildren, Madison and Harley. She is also survived by her brothers, Dennis Philipp and Gene (Donna) Philipp; her sister Gaylene (Peter) Gunberg; brothers-in-law, Carol (Doris) Evans and Robert Evans; sisters-in-law, Shirley Evans and Sharon (Jack) Mullarkey; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Ruth Philipp; her parents-in-law, Orval and Arlene Evans; brother, Gary (Jan) Philipp; and brother-in-law, Paul Evans; her sister-in-law, Della Philipp; and her great-nephew, Hunter Philipp.
Diane's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at UHD Hospice for their compassionate care, comfort, and support during Diane's most difficult days.
