Diane Haber, 75, of Milltown, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
Born and raised in the Bronx, New York, she moved to Manhattan and earned a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University.
While living in Manhattan she met her beloved husband of 52 years, Ross. Together they raised their family in Port Washington, New York until 2012, when they moved to Milltown to be closer to their grandchildren. They enjoyed spending time in the city that they loved, attending Broadway shows and visiting museums. Their favorite moments were starting each morning discussing their days over a cup of coffee in their sunroom.
Diane was a passionate and caring person and utilized her talents as a social worker to serve the neediest. She began as an international adoption coordinator and later transitioned her career to a care coordinator for senior citizens in nursing homes.
Diane's true love and joy was being with her family. She instilled in her children and grandchildren the importance of family, Judaism, and cultural traditions with her beautiful and meaningful holiday celebrations. Family and friends were treated to magnificent feasts that she prepared with love. She spent her last years in retirement, doting on her grandchildren, teaching and sharing with them all the things that she loves.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ross Haber; her son, Benjamin Haber and his wife Ginger; her daughter, Joanna Haber, and; her grandchildren, James and Chloe Haber.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 3rd, at Beth Abraham Cemetery, Cranbury Road, East Brunswick, under the direction of Beth Israel Memorial Chapel, Spotswood.
