Diane Jackson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Eternity Funeral Homes & Crematory - Jacksonville on Nov. 14, 2025.
Our beloved matriarch, Diane Recore Jackson, (mom, momma, mother, ma!, Nana, Grandma) gained her angel wings on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, after enduring a year of multiple medical issues. She finally had enough and let go. In true Diane fashion, she met the Lord on her own terms. She chose her mother's, Marion Recore's (Marni, Mimi) birthday to go home.
Diane was born on March 1, 1943, in Warsaw, New York, to William (Bill) and Marion Tavernier Recore. She grew up in Pike, New York, graduating from Letchworth High School in Letchworth, New York, home of the Grand Canyon of the East.
All who knew her knew she was an incredible storyteller, a very talented painter on both canvas and fabric; her quilts are now in the homes of people she loved; an excellent equestrian; a graceful ballroom dancer; full of humor and wit; and a true friend. To have known her is to have loved her.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul Joseph Jackson (October 6, 2005). She is survived by her daughters, Deanne Marie Moore, (Mike), Darcy Anne Cartwright, (Michael), and Dana Jackson Doody, (Matthew), her six grandchildren, Samantha Diane Deffes, (Paul Joseph), Ashley Nicole Moore, (Michael), David Philip Ferreira, (Katie), Daniel Paul Ferreira, (Kelly), Jackson Alec McIntyre, and Jared Tyler Westmoreland, (Jackie), and eight great-grandchildren, Trenton Gage Phillips, Bryson Connor Phillips, Emmalyn Grace Ferreira, Ezra Dean Avery, Jackson Nathaniel Maryon, Max Delaney Deffes, Deane Walter Deffes, Cora Christine Ferreira and Theodore Dawson Westmoreland.
She will be laid to rest on December 3, 2025, with a mass at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1773 Blanding Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida. Following the mass, her remains will be placed with her husband at the National Cemetery in a private family ceremony.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made in Diane's name to either the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens or the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, two charities she was passionate about.
