Diane passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by family on Sept. 5th. Diane was born in New York city on Aug. 10 1944, where she was adopted by Gladys and Albert Scheiterle of Olean, NY. Her father was soon transferred to the state of Washington where he spent 40 years working for the Mobil Refinery.
Diane graduated from Ferndale High School in 1963 and traveled to Germany to marry her high school sweetheart Kenneth Kluken who at the time was stationed overseas. Together they had three boys John, James and Jeffery. When Ken discharged from the Army they settled in Oregon City, Or. In 1975. Ken had gotten in the restaurant business and in 1977 they opened their first restaurant in Tigard and then another in Walla Walla, WA. In 1979 Ken Died Suddenly from heart failure and the restaurants were closed. Diane decided to stay in Oregon and went to work in the kitchen at Willamette Falls Hospital where she worked for the next 20 years as a dietician assistant.
She would eventually meet and marry Terry Janowitz, they were together for over 30 years until Terry's passing last fall, she often said Terry was the love of her life and missed him dearly. Diane had three sons six grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren. Diane had a huge heart, a strong personality and loved to talk and laugh with just about everyone she met and will be missed by all her family and friends. Diane was preceded in death by her first husband Ken Kluken in 1979, her son Jeff Kluken in 2009, and husband Terry in 2023.
