Diane Kaminski Obituary

Diane Josephine Kaminski, a beacon of wisdom and warmth, was called to her heavenly home on August 16, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on October 19, 1942, in Highland Park, Michigan, to Aloysius and Cecelia Kaminski. Diane's journey on earth began as a spark that would ignite countless lives with her love and intellect. She passed away peacefully in Southgate, Michigan, surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of education, faith, and a life lived with purpose.

Diane was a cherished sister to Bonnie and her husband Michael, who will forever remember her as a guiding light and friend. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured her relationships with them with the same dedication and love that she gave to her profession.

With an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Diane earned not one, but two master's degrees. She dedicated 47 years to teaching and counseling in the Allen Park School District, where she retired in 2010. Her commitment to education was not just a career but a calling. She was a pillar in the academic community, touching the lives of students and colleagues alike with her intelligence and compassion.

A devout Christian, Diane lived her faith through action and words. Her life was a sermon of love, and her actions, a prayer of service. She found her greatest joy not only in sharing her faith but also in embodying the virtues of Christianity-love, kindness, and understanding.

Diane's interests were as rich and varied as her personality. An avid reader, she found solace and excitement within the pages of books, traveling through stories and gaining wisdom to share with others. She was a natural teacher and leader, not only in her profession but in every aspect of her life. Her love for the Food Network was an amusing quirk, as she relished watching the culinary arts but preferred to indulge in the delicacies of her favorite restaurants-The Hungarian Rhapsody, Pias, Sabina's, and Carrabas-rather than cook herself.

Her favorite holiday was Halloween, a time when her playful spirit shone brightest. She famously dressed up as the Wicked Witch for a school production of "The Wizard of Oz," a role that captured her whimsical side and her talent for bringing joy to others.

Loving, friendly, and intelligent-these words encapsulate the essence of Diane. She walked through life with an open heart, making friends wherever she went and leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to cross her path.

As we celebrate Diane's life, let us remember her not with sorrow but with the joy she brought into our lives. Let us honor her memory by living out the lessons she taught us: to love without hesitation, to learn with eagerness, and to lead with courage. Diane Josephine Kaminski's story on earth may have ended, but her spirit continues to inspire and guide us. We are all better for having known her, and her light will forever shine in the hearts of those she touched.
