Diane Lee Kent, age 87, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
Diane was born on March 31, 1938 in Pontiac, MI to William and Alice (Rhea) Britton. Diane was a dedicated mother and foster mother. She was a huge advocate for the children's ministry at her church, Grayling Assembly of God. She worked in the nursery there for many years and even helped start the church with her husband Billy and sister JoEllen. Diane owned a daycare for many years and selflessly took children into her home through the foster care system.
She enjoyed baking and cooking. She made an awesome chocolate cake and the best potato salad in the world! She lived for over 20 years in Arizona with her husband until returning back to Grayling. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world. She worked tirelessly to take care of those around her.
Diane will be dearly missed by her husband of 67 years, Billy Kent; children, Stacey Kent, Elizabeth Teets, and Kenneth Kent; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Donna Kent, Barbara (Marvin) Byers, Jim (Helen) Britton, Janet (Jim) Utt, and JoEllen Schwartz.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda Seaver, and 1 great-grandchild Nolyn Stade.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at Grayling Assembly of God from 10:00 am until the beginning of funeral service at 12:00 pm with Pastor Gary Wojdan officiating. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Interment will be at Briley Twp Cemetery in Atlanta, MI.
