Diane Marie (Hartman) Macaruso passed on September 10th, 2024. Her greatest gift in this life was her children. Diane was Mom to Daniel P. Macaruso and Ellen G. Macaruso. Diane raised her family in Cranston as a single Mom. She was the daughter of loving parents, Ralph and Rita Hartman of Cranston. Diane is survived by her children, Daniel P. Macaruso and Ellen G. Macaruso. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Hartman, and his family, and her sister, Elaine Torman, and her family. Diane was also Godmother to Scott Santos and Stephen Hartman, two gentlemen who have stood by her side.
In her professional role, Diane was a registered nurse at Rhode Island Hospital and Johns Hopkins Hospital. She later developed a second career working as a preschool teacher. Diane enjoyed being surrounded by her children on Sundays. She also enjoyed viewing morning sunrises over the waters of Jamestown with Ellen. Dan's smiles and new accomplishments continued to bring joy into her life.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation to celebrate Diane's life Sunday, Sept. 15, from 2pm until 4pm in the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are greatly appreciated to Looking Upwards (Needs and Dreams Fund), PO Box 4289, Middletown, RI 02842.
