DIANE M. MORGAN
LOUDONVILLE - Diane Morgan, 85, of
Loudonville, NY, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2026, with her children by her side.
Diane was a devoted daughter, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose quiet strength, resilience, generosity, and unwavering faith shaped a life of remarkable service to others. With competence, humility, and a true get-things-done spirit, she built a legacy defined by kindness and steadfast dedication.
Born in
Albany, NY, to the late Edward and Sally (Drury) Morgan, Diane was predeceased by her daughter, Shelley Colangione, and her brother, Edward Jordan Morgan. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Colangione (Lauren Baskin), her son Louis Morgan, her grandson Brandon Baskin, her granddaughter Nina Darby (Jared Darby), her great-granddaughter Malaya Darby, and a loving extended family including the Morgans, Weicherts, Schroeders, Baskins, and Conners.
Diane grew up in Menands and cherished childhood summer vacations on Cape Cod and time spent with her beloved dog, Blondie. She graduated from Vincentian Institute and earned a B.A. in History from Marymount College, followed by a Master of Science in Education from Russell Sage College.
Diane was married to Louis R. Colangione for twenty-six years and together they welcomed three children. Diane was committed to providing her children with a good education and opportunities to explore their interests, from music lessons to skiing and tennis to summer swim meets at the Troy and Schuyler Meadows Country Clubs. Diane planned vacations that created treasured family memories for her children- adventures to New York City, warm days in Jamaica, and magical trips to Disney.
Diane was an exceptional mother, whose unconditional love shaped her children's lives and supported them through good times and bad. Diane cared for her mother at home for many years until Sally's passing at age 96. Through trials and tragedy, Diane never gave up, pressing on with faith and endurance.
After graduate school, Diane worked as a social worker for Rensselaer County and volunteered with the Junior League of Troy. As her children grew older, she taught briefly at Emma Willard's Children's School before working at Skyway Roofing Corporation and later at Heslin and Rothenberg Law Firm.
In 1992, Diane joined the Board of Directors of the Pruyn House, a historic property in Colonie. In 1996, she was named Director-a role she held for 24 years. As Director, Diane welcomed thousands of guests and personally oversaw countless weddings, celebrations, concerts, and community programs. Meticulous and tireless, she worked closely with the Board and the Town of Colonie to steward the historic property with care and vision. Her passion for her work was infectious, and her warmth and hospitality made the Pruyn House a beloved gathering place for the community.
In her personal life, Diane's gifts were just as profound. She made everyone feel welcome, appreciated, and loved -whether hosting her family's holidays or friends' special celebrations, or inviting her kids' friends to join the family for dinner, or sending thoughtful notes, or baking her signature apple chocolate chip bread for neighbors. Even when resources were limited, she found ways to help those in need. Diane maintained decades-long friendships from Troy, her "Woodridge" family, and her Bridge Group friends. During her time at Pruyn House, Diane made many wonderful friendships and connections.
Diane will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
