Louise Ryan Obituary

Ryan, Louise Irene
LOUDONVILLE - Louise Irene Ryan, age 99, of Loudonville, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2026, on The Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Robert Ryan.
Born and raised in Nashua, N.H., on August 22, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Irene (Vadeboncoeur) Villeneuve. She graduated from Nashua H.S. in 1945 and went on to work for the State of N.H. Employment Office, where she met her husband, Richard. They married in 1950. In 1953, they moved their growing family to Albany, N.Y., and thence Loudonville, N.Y. After raising her children, Louise began working at NAPA Distribution Center, in Colonie, where she remained for 15 years.
During retirement, Louise lived 27 years in Clifton Park, where she enjoyed many cherished times with good friends. They could often be found out and about for lunch dates, enjoying movies, and traveling. During this time, she also dedicated efforts to volunteering at The Albany Institute of History and Art, as well as serving as a Literacy Volunteer. In 2014, Louise returned to live in Loudonville, in her much-loved in-law apartment, where she could be close to family.
Louise is survived by her children, Frances (CJ) O'Rourke, of Loudonville, Mary Ann (Jon McClelland) Ryan, of Voorheesville, Patricia (Douglas) Brown, of Rowayton, Conn., Michael (Kris) Ryan, of Crossville, Tenn., and Kathleen Ryan, of California. Louise was the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren; and the proudest great-grandmother of 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her late parents and husband, Louise was predeceased by her beloved sons, Richard Arthur Ryan and Dennis Patrick Ryan. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Priscilla (Haven), and Claire (Dumaine); as well as her brother, Charles Villeneuve.
Louise's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of both Albany Medical Center (specifically Floor C6), and Community Hospice.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend services for Louise on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Rd., Loudonville, N.Y. The visitation will be held in the chapel from 9 to 9:45 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial in the main church, with Reverend James Walsh, celebrant. Interment and Rite of Committal to immediately follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
In lieu of flowers, Louise's family requests donations kindly be made to Breakthrough Type 1 Diabetes (formerly JDRF) by mail, to 1757 Central Ave., Suite 102, Albany, N.Y. 12205, or by visiting www.breakthrought1d.org/northeastny/
