Diane Elaine (Earl) Murphy entered into eternal rest on February 28, 2025, at the age of 75. A life-long Connecticut resident, she grew up in Shelton, CT, and later moved her family to Oxford, CT. She held various jobs, including working as a bank teller and a library assistant, while her last role was assisting special needs children as a paraprofessional in the Oxford School System.
Diane led with a heart to help others. She fostered many children and because of her devotion and dedication to the children in her care, received a Foster Parent of the Year award. Years later, she opened her home to a special needs adult. A devoted follower of Christ, she faithfully attended Living Springs Christian Fellowship, which became like a second family to her. Always willing to open up her home, she led Bible studies and held worship practice in her living room. She loved the Lord and instilled those values in her children. She found joy in bird watching, learning about homesteading, and feeding her nightly animal critters. She would warn her family and friends if they came over after dark that there could be a skunk or racoon to greet them.
Diane leaves behind her two sons, Daniel (Suzanne) and Darin (Annette); Kris Kelly, who was like a third son to her; grandchildren, Daniel, Shane, Derek, and Trevor; sister, Pam; and a niece, Amy and nephews, Jason and Brian. She was predeceased by her parents, Dolores and Charles Earl.
A memorial service in celebration of Diane's life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at Living Springs Christian Fellowship, 141 Great Hill Road, Seymour, CT 06483. All are welcome.
