Diane Parrish Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Short & Rowe Funeral Home on Dec. 20, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Marie Parrish, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world on December 17, 2025, at the age of 81. Diane passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving husband and daughter Tracy.

Born on July 2, 1944, in Quincy, Massachusetts, Diane lived a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Diane was the daughter of Daniel and Edith Williamson, who instilled in her the values of kindness and compassion that she carried throughout her life. Growing up in Quincy, she attended Quincy High School, where she began to foster her vibrant spirit and deep sense of community.

In 1980, Diane married the love of her life, Samuel Parrish, in Marlborough, MA. Their marriage spanned an incredible 45 years, a testament to their unwavering love and partnership. Together, they created a warm and nurturing home filled with laughter and joy, where their daughter, Tracy Parrish Hill, grew up surrounded by the love of her parents and the warmth of family.

Diane's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Maxfield and Morgan Hill, who brought her immense pride and joy. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, each of whom carries a piece of her loving spirit.

Diane was a dedicated professional, contributing her talents to various roles throughout her career. She worked at Raytheon, where she played a crucial role in assembling modules for the space program, and later spent over 20 years as an inspector at Data General, where her keen eye for detail was invaluable. She concluded her working years at the Westborough Dairy Queen, affectionately known as the original "Dairy Queen," where her friendly demeanor and dedication made a lasting impression on both colleagues and customers.

A vibrant member of her community, Diane was actively involved in several organizations, including the Amvets Auxiliary, the ITAM of Marlborough, the Marlborough Moose Lodge, and the Hudson Eagles. She formed lasting friendships through her memberships and was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need.

Diane had an infectious love for life, which shone brightly in her hobbies and interests. She was an avid pitch player and enjoyed countless hours playing board games with family and friends. Her culinary skills were unmatched, and she found joy in creating delicious meals that brought everyone together. Diane also enjoyed her summers on the lake with family and friends. Diane and Samuel shared a deep love for travel, especially enjoying the Caribbean, where they spent over 30 years vacationing in Antigua. Those trips were filled with laughter, relaxation, and the creation of treasured memories on the ocean.

Above all, Diane was a beacon of love to all who crossed her path. Her caring nature and positive spirit left a lasting impact on everyone she met. She had a unique ability to make others feel cherished and valued, a gift that will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community.

Diane Marie Parrish's legacy of love and kindness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She is now at peace and will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Diane's memory to a lung cancer research foundation of your choice, honoring her courageous battle with lung cancer. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date, where family and friends can gather to share stories and remember the beautiful soul that Diane was.
