Diane Phillips Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Gardner’s Funeral Home - Angleton on Jan. 29, 2026.
Diane Gee Phillips was born on August 4, 1955, to Mike and Clara Gee. She was raised in Angleton, Texas, where she spent much of her life and built deep roots within her family and church. Diane graduated from Angleton High School in 1974.

At the age of seven or eight, Diane became a member of First Missionary Baptist Church (FMBC), where her faith journey began at an early age. She faithfully served as a member of the Junior Choir and the Junior Usher Board. Later, Diane went on to make a lasting impact on the church as the first director of the Total Praise Dancers, where she led and nurtured the ministry for seven years. Through her leadership, she helped establish a foundation of worship, discipline, and praise that continues to influence the ministry today.

Diane was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dan Phillips Sr.; her parents, Mike and Clara Gee; her siblings, Donald, Tommy, Kathleen, and Patricia; and her son, Shawn.

She leaves to cherish her memory her brother, Rayfield; her children, Kimberly and Demetria; her grandchildren, Stashania, Dan, Monique, and Meraya; and her great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Lennox. She is also survived by an abundance of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

From her daughters, we carry forward the love, strength, and faith our mother poured into us. She showed us how to lead with grace, love without limits, and give of ourselves fully. Her voice, her laughter, and her unwavering devotion will live on through our family and all the lives she touched. Though she is no longer with us, her presence will forever remain in our hearts.
