Diane Lynn Pratt, a beacon of creativity and love, passed away peacefully at her home in Gladwin, Michigan, on September 15, 2025. Born on December 28, 1956, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Roy and Donna Jean (Oliver) Pratt, Diane's life was a tapestry of dedication, passion, and kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Diane's journey began as a bright-eyed child in Flint, where she grew up alongside her loving siblings, Lyle (Tracy) Pratt, Doug Pratt, and Mary (Jay) Reddy. Her early years were filled with the warmth of family and the joys of discovery, setting the stage for a life rich in love and accomplishment.
A proud graduate of Baker College, Diane's intellectual curiosity led her to a successful career in computer science. She brought her sharp mind and meticulous attention to detail to Kelly Services employment agency, where she excelled as a data processor. Her colleagues remember her as a pillar of reliability and innovation, always ready to lend a hand or share a word of encouragement.
Beyond her professional achievements, Diane's heart was truly at home, where she was engaged to her beloved Wayne King. Together, they created a life filled with laughter, shared dreams, and unwavering support. Diane was a devoted mother to Nathanel Pratt, Billy Pratt, Tamy (Jimmy) Partridge, Jennifer McGrath, and Ginger McGrath Ollie Pendarvis. Her love for her children was only magnified by the joy she found in her grandchildren: Gracie, Jasmine, Jimmy, Ashley, Desirae, Lance, Chatton, Shylee, Belle, Zaxton, Kayleigh, Brooke, Tyler, Blake, and Mia. Each child was a unique spark in her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Diane's creativity knew no bounds. Her home was a testament to her talents in gardening and landscaping, a personal Eden that reflected the beauty she saw in the world. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and joy in crocheting, knitting, needlepointing, and crafting. Diane's love for animals, especially her dogs Rott, Bruttis, and Dutchess, was evident in the care and training she devoted to them. Her pets were not just companions but members of her extended family.
Those who knew Diane will remember her as the epitome of creativity, loving kindness, and thoughtfulness. She had a unique ability to see the potential in everything and everyone, nurturing growth and beauty in her garden and in the hearts of those she loved. Her legacy is one of compassion, resilience, and the gentle strength that comes from a life well-lived.
