Diane Scott Obituary
Diane Scott, 73, of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at Vibra Hospital of Fargo.
Diane Lynn Cichy was born May 13, 1952 to Clarence and Delphine (Opatz) Cichy in Fergus Falls. She attended grade school at Our Lady of Victory Catholic School and Fergus Falls High School, graduating in 1970.
On August 11, 1972, Diane married Ronald Scott in Fergus Falls.
She worked at the Holiday Inn as a housekeeper until she started doing banquets at The Pier. Then she worked at the YMCA as the Senior Activities Director until 2020 when she began helping other senior citizens.
You could always find Diane outside, she enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables. She also enjoyed mowing lawn. Taking care of the elderly in Fergus Falls was very important to her.
Diane will be deeply missed. Her big heart and generous spirit touched so many through her service to her friends, family, church, the Veteran's Home, and her "little old ladies." She would always help whenever, wherever she was needed; always with a smile, and usually an inappropriate joke that made everyone laugh.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Clarence Cichy and Delphine Spranger, and cousins, Scott Opatz, Matthew Opatz, and Sara Bugbee.
Diane is survived by her husband, Ron Scott of Fergus Falls; sisters -in-law and brothers-in-law, Gale (Becky) Scott, Kathy (Everett) Mostue, and Carrie (Bill) Wedll; nieces and nephews, Megan Hanson, Brooke Hoefs, Amber Gustafson, Derek Mostue, Alicia Mostue, Ben Wedll, Andy Wedll, and Luke Wedll, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Memorials are preferred to Our Lady of Victory Catholic School Scholarship Fund.
Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 9, 2026 at Olson Funeral and Cremation in Fergus Falls, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will resume one-hour prior to the service at the church.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Fergus Falls.
Clergy: Father Alan Wielinski
Interment: St. Otto's Cemetery, Fergus Falls, MN
