Diane Sledge Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bennie Smith Funeral Homes - Salisbury on Dec. 7, 2024.
Obituary
Diane Sledge was born on March 7, 1953, in Westover, Maryland. She entered into eternal rest on December 5, 2024.
Diane attended Somerset County Maryland Public Schools. She worked for Sherwin-Williams in Crisfield, Maryland and retired after many years of service.
Diane was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Diane had a heart of pure gold. She was the epitome of kindness and compassion, always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Her selflessness and generosity knew no bounds, and she was deeply loved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Diane's loving spirit and strong sense of family were at the core of everything she did. She made sure that no one ever felt alone, always offering warmth, guidance, and comfort, especially to her children and grandchildren.
Known for her delicious soul food and the family dinners she lovingly prepared, Diane created memories around the table that will live on in the hearts of those who gathered there. She was a dedicated and nurturing mother who cherished her children and made sure they felt her love every day. Her devotion extended to her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, all of whom she adored and nurtured with love and care.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory: her children, William E. Sledge, Jr. of Valdosta, GA, Kimberly D. Sledge-Palmer (Bernell Palmer) of Princess Anne, MD and Shawla R. Sledge of Princess Anne, MD; her grandchildren, Breanna Hinman, Tabrea Sledge, Taijion Sledge, Taijah Taylor-Sledge, Ashawnti Buckner, Ireland Sledge, Taurean Thornton, and Tauri Thornton; her great-granddaughter, Xuriana Diane Sledge; her nieces, Lessie Malone, Mattie Ball, Edna Malone, and a host of great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-seven (47) years, William E. Sledge Sr., her parents, Douglas and Enda Adams, and her sister Glenda Jones.
Diane's legacy will live on in the hearts of her family, who will remember her not only for her acts of kindness and unwavering love but for the joy and laughter she brought into their lives. While she may be gone from this earth, her loving presence will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
