Diane F. (LaCroix) Sponholtz, 78

1944 - 2023

Saugus - Mrs. Diane F. (LaCroix) Sponholtz, 78, of Saugus, formerly of Swampscott passed away on February 14, 2023, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of Francis Sponholtz with whom she shared 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Salem where she met her love Fran, they started a family and moved to Swampscott where they raised their family. Finally residing in Saugus for the last of her years. Throughout her working experiences she met so many wonderful people and made lifelong friends such as at IHOP in Peabody, Swampscott Middle School as a much-loved Secretary and Brooksby village as the hair salon receptionist.

Diane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a former member of the Marblehead Gardening Club, the Red Hat Society, and the North Shore Chorus of Sweet Adelines. She was regularly involved in activities at Blessed Sacrament Church in Saugus. Her greatest joys in life were spending time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed sharing her love of gardening, tea parties, sewing and singing with her friends and family. Most of all, she loved going on adventures with them.

Diane is survived by her husband, Francis Sponholtz, her children Deborah Hines of Derry, NH, Chris and his wife Sarah of Lynn, MA, Ann Marie Raymond and her husband Jay of Lynn, MA, and her grandchildren John, Ryleigh and Brenna Hines, Adam and Katelyn Sponholtz, and Taylor Raymond. She is predeceased by her mother Lucile LaCroix. She also departs from many loving friends.

Service Information: Family and friends are invited to her funeral Mass which will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Summer Street, Saugus, MA on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11 A.M.
