Diane was born June 13, 1950, in New Hampton, IA, the daughter of Arthur and Betty (Buttz) Munson. She received her early education in the New Hampton Community school district, where she formed the foundations of a life committed to diligence and excellence. It was at the former Huffman's Tavern that Diane met the love of her life while playing a game of pool. Their shared interests and instant connection led to a loving marriage with Richard Stolfus on March 20, 1967, at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hampton. Together, they welcomed two sons, Richard and Michael, into the world, and Diane was a devoted mother who instilled in her boys the values of hard work.
Work was not just a necessity for Diane; it was her passion. She began her career as a housekeeper at the former Ferkins Motel, taking pride in every task she undertook. Diane's work ethic and leadership skills shone brightly when she joined Featherlite Manufacturing, where she dedicated over 38 years of service. As a team leader in the upholstery department, she excelled and was respected by her colleagues for her expertise and commitment.
In addition to her work at Featherlite, Diane operated her own upholstery shop from her home. Her entrepreneurial spirit and skilled hands allowed her to craft beautiful pieces that were both functional and artistic. Diane's work was not just a job; it was a craft that she honed with love and precision.
Living in the country provided Diane with the peace and tranquility she so cherished. The open fields and the whispering trees were the backdrop to a life filled with outdoor adventures. Whether she was hunting, fishing, or taking her family camping, Diane embraced the beauty of nature. Her love for the outdoors was infectious, and she often shared this passion with her family and friends, creating memories that would be cherished for a lifetime.
