Diane Thomas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Keplinger Funeral Home on Jul. 11, 2023.
V. Diane Thomas, 74, passed away unexpectedly on July 7, 2023 at her residence.
She was born in Hartford City on November 12, 1948 to Loren M. Thomas and Virginia Elizabeth (Tucker) Thomas. Her parents preceded her in death.
She married Steven Eric Thomas on October 3, 1966 at Montpelier United Methodist Church. She was President and bookkeeper of Quality Heating and Cooling in Hartford City. She was hard working, and she and Steven spent years building the family business and working in the community.
Diane was a member of Grace Methodist Church, Tri Kappa Sorority, Euchre Club and the AMVETS of Hartford City. She was active in the church teaching a Sunday School Class.
She loved being a wife and mother, but her greatest joy came from being called nana or grandma. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and making memories. She was kind and had a heart of gold and was always willing to help anyone in need. She collected angels and loved to read her Bible. She loved jewelry and she had acquired a lot of amazing pieces over the years. She was always on the move and enjoyed being with others, rather it be with the girls, playing euchre, going out to eat or meeting her brother and sisters for lunch. She also loved family trips to the Smokey Mountains or to Dale Hollow. Her smile and laugh were contagious, and she will be missed dearly by those who loved her most.
Diane will be sadly missed by her husband, Steven E. Thomas of Hartford City; son and daughter-in-law, Eric David and Sherry L. Thomas of Poneto; Robert Douglas "Doug" Thomas of Hartford City; Steven Christopher "Chris" Thomas of Hartford City; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas, Rebecca Thomas, Rachel Thomas and Connor Thomas; siblings, Linda (husband, Jack) Harris of Hartford City; Rita Hamilton of Hartford City and Loren Richard "Dick" (wife, Linda) Thomas of Hartford City; sister-in-law, Kathy A. Buchanan of Muncie; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be at 11 am Friday, July 14, 2023 at Grace Methodist Church, 312 W. Washington St., Hartford City with Pastor John Barton and Pastor Les Bantz officiating. Burial will follow at Hartford City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City and from 10 to 11 am Friday, July 14, 2023 at the church.
Memorials may be made to Grace Methodist Church, 312 W. Washington St., Hartford City, IN 47348 or Taylor University-The Dr. Jennifer (Hammond) Clamme Annual Scholarship, 1846 S Main St, Upland, IN 46989
