Diane M. Vazquez-Drake

Diane M. Vazquez-Drake passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the age of 48.
Diane is survived by her parents Sergio and Rusty Vazquez; her spouse, Heather; her daughters, Alexandria (Dean), Olivia (Zach), Katherine (Dylan), Caroline (Curtis) and her son William; grandchildren, Jacob, Skyler, Samuel, Cyla, Weston, and Cooper; her brothers, Steve (Alisha), Sergio Jr. (Melissa); nephews, Landon, Aiden, Leo; and niece, Halle. Many aunts, uncles, and cousins also survived.
Diane accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior at the age of 16. Although she struggled in her faith later in life, we know we will see her again in Glory! Diane was an intelligent and motivated woman who cared deeply about her family, friends, and her patients at Asheville Heart, where she was a surgical scheduler. She was "GiGi" to her precious grandbabies and "DeeDee" to her family. She loved adventures and spending time with family.
Diane had many hobbies, but her favorite was baking especially at Christmas. She was known for her cookies! She was a wonderful encourager to her children, a mom who attended sports, dances, and other activities with her children as they were growing up. She was their cheerleader whenever they doubted their ability to succeed. She was a good friend to many. Diane will be greatly missed by her family and all that knew her.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Hendersonville, 312 Fifth Avenue West, Hendersonville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the service, at the church.
