Diann Lee Pavelka, 68, of Lisbon, passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2025, at The Avacentre located at 23486 Co Rd E34 in Anamosa.

Diann was born on August 16, 1956, in Monticello, the daughter of Robert John and Velma Mary (Koppes) Postel. Diann graduated from Anamosa High School in 1974. On August 1, 1981 Diann was united in marriage to Dan Vincent Pavelka at St. Joseph's in Stone City. Diann worked at Rockwell Collins, Kirkwood Community College and spent over 35 years working for the University of Iowa Technology Innovation Center in North Liberty until retiring in 2023. Diann was an avid gardener and member of many gardening clubs. Diann painted, collected antiques and had a way of seeing and creating beauty in the world around her. She was fierce, out-spoken, loved her family deeply and made an impact on those around her.

Diann is survived by her loving husband of 44 years Dan Pavelka of Lisbon, brother-in-law, Tony (Linda) Pavelka, Jeff Pavelka, sister-in-law, Mary Postel and many dearly loved nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents Robert John and Velma Mary (Koppes) Postel; siblings, Beverly Shaffer, Nancy Serbousek, Tom Postel and Butch Postel; mother-in-law Jean Pavelka; father-in-law Jim Pavelka; brothers-in-law Gordon Shaffer, Lynn Serbousek; sister-in-law, Sue Postel; and nephew, Jeff Shaffer.
