Dianne Joyce Badenhop, beloved wife, amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 84.
Dianne was born on April 27, 1941, in
Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Faith Ashcroft and sister, Jane Keblar.
Dianne grew up in a loving home in Richfield Minnesota. She had a happy childhood with loving parents and grandparents. Dianne spent her time playing with friends, ice skating, drawing, going to the movies, hanging with friends in their basement and playing music. Growing up, one of her fondest memories was hanging out with her cousin Wayne.
In 1960, Dianne married, Ron Pedersen. They were married for twenty years and had two daughters, Joy and Ellen. The young family moved to Texas in 1966, and it became home for the rest of Dianne's life.
Dianne met the true love of her life, Fred Badenhop, while working at Financial Systems and Equipment. They were married for 45 years. Their son, Matthew, was born in 1983. Dianne's blonde curly headed boy was the apple of her eye and brought her so much love and joy.
Fred and Dianne had a loving marriage built on trust, compassion, fun, laughter, and happiness. They were destined to be together. Early in their marriage, they managed working professionally and doting on Matthew. Later, they enjoyed traveling in their motor home, spending time visiting family, friends, national parks, amusement parks, museums, cities and towns, around the country.
A lifelong creative spirit, Dianne was an accomplished artist whose talents spanned, oil painting, charcoal, and pencil drawing as well as sewing. Her talents evolved over the years. In her twenties, she focused on oil painting, charcoal, and pencil drawings. Later, her hand at sewing was near perfection and making clothes from patterns with her sewing machine. In her 50s and 60s, sewing evolved into making dolls, animals, figures with intricate detailed stitching. In 2020, during the pandemic, Dianne spent much of her time creating more than 80 acrylic paintings for family and friends. She leaves behind hundreds of beautiful paintings, crafts, and handmade creations that will continue to inspire and remind us of her generosity and creativity.
Music was another creative outlet for Dianne. She loved playing the organ and later discovered deep delight in her electronic keyboard, spending hours playing from songbooks spanning many musical genres.
Dianne is survived by her devoted husband, Fred Badenhop; her children, Joy Pressly (Greg), Ellen DiNucci, and Matthew Badenhop; seven grandchildren; Sarah Manack, Anna Griffith, Jake DiNucci, Jenay Bennett, Julia Van Hoorebeke, Grant Pressly, and Jill Pressly; and four great grandchildren, Easton, Gianna, Callan, and Josie.
Dianne's life was a testament to the power of love, family, creativity, and perseverance. Those who knew Dianne will remember her contagious smile, laugh, her artistic touch, sharp wit, and the lasting beauty she brought into the world.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Dianne will be deeply missed by all.
