Dianne DeBerry Bonty, 69, of Marion, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Mountain Ridge Wellness Center.
She was born in Brownsville, Tennessee on July 23, 1954 to the late Joe DeBerry and Esther Smith DeBerry. She spent most of her life in California before moving to Marion three years ago.
She graduated from Crenshaw High School in California in 1973. She became a Jehovah’s Witness in the 1980’s and remained faithful and devout the rest of her life. Dianne loved animals, especially horses, and she had several turtles as pets over the years. She had a gift for writing beautiful poetry and songs that will be cherished by her family and friends for years to come. Most of all, Dianne will be remembered for her love toward all. Her grandchildren were her world.
She is preceded in death by two sons, Emery A. Bonty and Dion Williamson; and two siblings, Joe DeBerry and Brenda DeBerry.
She is survived by her husband of over 35 years, Emery A. Bonty; three children, Crystal Williamson, Gary Roberson, Emel Bonty; several grandchildren including Jaezon Johnson, Trejon Johnson, Maya Roberson, and Vallen Roberson; one brother, James DeBerry; two nephews; three nieces; and special friends, Diane Taylor, Carrie Emilien, and Debbie Bryant.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 346 Hankins Road in Marion.
