Dianne Cox, a cherished wife, mother, and entrepreneur, closed her eyes one last time here on earth and opened them in the presence of Jesus on Monday, October 6, 2025, after a brief illness. Born in Ridgeland, South Carolina, Dianne was the beloved daughter of Dan C. Cooler, Jr. and Vivian L. Carricker Snipes (Barney). Her life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family and community, and her warm spirit touched the lives of many. In 1970, Dianne's life was forever changed when she met Ralph Cox, the man who would become her partner in life and business. Their love story was one for ages, and together they embarked on the adventure of raising six wonderful children. Dianne's role as a mother was one, she cherished deeply, and she instilled in her children the values of hard work, compassion, and the importance of family.
Dianne's professional journey was marked by her commitment to the food service industry, where she spent many years as a dedicated waitress. Her passion for hospitality was evident to all who were served by her, and she took great pride in ensuring that every customer felt like part of the family. This passion led Dianne and her husband to open Parramore's in 1987 and Parramore's Too in 1991, establishments that quickly became beloved by the community for their warm atmosphere and delicious food.
Living her life in service to others, Dianne found joy in the simple pleasures. She was an avid fan of cooking shows and collector of recipe books. Her love for word puzzles was a quiet pastime that kept her mind sharp, and she could frequently be found playing games on her iPad.
Dianne's love for animals and plants was unparalleled, and her home was affectionately known as "Noah's Ark" due to the array of creatures that found refuge under her care. Her compassion for all living beings was a true reflection of her generous heart.
Dianne is survived by her daughters, Sharon Cox, Theresa Allen (Keith), Lisa Floyd (Hank), Denisa McDaniel (Bob), and Karen Swanberg (Greg); son, Tim Cox (Amy); her "bubba", Danny Cooler; a special niece, Wendy Cooler; a special cousin, Eddie Cox; sisters in law, Ann Ice (Dave) and Barbara Montgomery (Owen); and a brother in law, William Cox (Cathy); twelve grandchildren, Gannon (Crystal), Lindsey (Jonathan), Caroline, Kayla, Travis, Trenton (Onna), Madison (Noah), Kylee (Caleb), Sarah, Rebecca, Elijah and BJ (Brittany); seven great grandchildren, Kashton, Kamdyn, Grayson, Cori, Jace, Jaleigh and Jersey as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She also held a special place in her heart for her bonus family, Destiny (Tim), Wesley, Brynnleigh and Remi.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of fifty-two years, Ralph Cox.
Dianne's legacy is one of love, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her laughter, her wisdom, and her nurturing presence will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.
As we bid farewell to Dianne Cox, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a soul that will continue to inspire. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of those she loved. Dianne's journey on this earth may have come to an end, but the impact of her love and the memories she created will endure forever.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, beginning at 2:00 PM in the Circle Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Clinton Howell officiating and McAlpin Funeral Home directing.
Serving as pallbearers are Caleb Bohannon, Tim Cox, BJ McDaniel, Trent Jeter, Gannon Baxter and Greg Truette.
