Dianne Gerhardt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Jowett Funeral Home and Cremation Service - New Haven on Oct. 2, 2025.
July 18, 1938 – September 29, 2025 Dianne Gerhardt, age 87, of Chesterfield, Michigan, entered eternal rest on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late John and Frances Kessler. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, John "Jack" Kessler. Dianne cherished her childhood memories, especially helping her parents run their small market in Detroit. Her love for baking began at a young age, inspired by her mother. Dianne graduated from Dominican High School, an all-girls Catholic school in Detroit. Over the years, she held numerous jobs and built a successful career in accounting. She often recalled her time working at Armour Meat Packing in Detroit and later at Capital Group in California. On September 27, 1971, Dianne married Wayne Gerhardt, who preceded her in death in 1999. Together they raised their family, living in Michigan, Louisiana, and California. Dianne also spent time in Arkansas before returning to Michigan, the place she always called home. She was preceded in death by her sons Mark Holt and Richard Gerhardt, as well as her son-in-law Bob Hughes. She is survived by her children, Michael Gerhardt, Craig Holt (Karen), David Gerhardt (Ashley), Dianne Hughes, and Wayne Gerhardt II (Jill). She was a proud grandmother to Brandon Gerhardt, Ryan Gerhardt, Shannon Rooker, David Gerhardt Jr, Devon Bujno, CJ Holt, Blake Hughes, Katrina Hughes, Samantha Starr, Clinton Holt, Bethany Dobbs, and Summer Gerhardt, as well as four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dianne was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fair Haven, Michigan. She had a deep love for her family and friends and embraced life with joy and adventure. She loved camping, boating, family gatherings, shopping, baking, and spending time with her pets and her family's pets. Her warmth and kindness touched many lives, and her memory will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held in July 2026. Arrangements in care of Jowett Funeral Home-New Haven.
