Dianne Hoff Obituary

Published by Lakeshore Mortuary on Jan. 31, 2007.
Dianne C. Hoff passed away January 27, 2007, at the Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, AZ. Dianne was born January 28, 1938 in Niskayuna, NY to Ruth and Duane Putman of Esperance, NY. She graduated from Duanesburg Central High School as valedictorian of the Class of 1955 and from the Ellis Hospital School of Nursing in 1958. During her senior year of nurses training, Dianne was selected Ideal Student Nurse of New York State. Following graduation, she married Charles J. Hendrickson of Esperance, and they were blessed with three children, David Charles, Scott Thomas, and Susan Dianne. Dianne pursued her career as a registered nurse at Ellis Hospital and with the Schoharie County Department of Social Services. Soon after Charles and Dianne moved to Tucson, AZ in 1981, Charles passed away unexpectedly. Dianne became actively involved in the music program of St. James United Methodist Church in Tucson, where she met Chuck Hoff. Their love of music and their love of the Lord drew them together and they were married in August of 1984. Their blended family now consisted of six children. Throughout her lifetime, Dianne's musical contributions included participation in band and choir during her school years, directing children and adult choirs and serving as organist for the Esperance Methodist Church, membership in the Esperance Volunteer Fire Department Band, and singing and ringing English hand bells at St. James. In 1976, Dianne composed, created, and directed a community-wide Bicentennial musical entitled, "Hope for America." Until the time of her death, she volunteered as a piano accompanist for children's programs in Chandler, AZ. Among her favorite things were traveling in their motor home, basking on the beach in Brookings, OR and creating beautiful handmade "Kanga Krafts" with Chuck. Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Charles, and one son, Scott. She is survived by her husband, five children, nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, her mother-in-law, two aunts, and several brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A celebration of Dianne's life will be held during a memorial service at St. James United Methodist Church, 3255 N. Campbell Ave. in Tucson at 1 PM on Thurs., Feb. 1, 2007. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Dianne's memory, to the Music Department of her grandchildren's schools: c/o Pomeroy PTO/Dianne Hoff Memorial, 1507 W Shawnee Dr., Chandler, AZ 85224. My thoughts and prayers are with you Chuck, Susan and all the family. What special memories I have of my short time at St.James with all of you. I continue to cherish my pictures of Dianne and the bell choir.

Dear Hoff and Hendrix Family,
My deepest and sincere sympathy in the loss of such a wonderful woman. Mrs. Hoff touched so many hearts here at Pomeroy School. She brought joy to all who had the opportunity to listen to her beautiful piano playing during our Holiday Programs.
It was always the highlight of the school year to know that she was going to be there for us. I will never forget her bright and happy face as she entered the classroom each year. Within moments she was the shining star in the room! Every Kindergartner loved her and her music - she made it come alive! I always said it each year, and I meant it from the bottom of my heart, she made us look good! I am so grateful I had the opportunity to meet such an incredible woman. She will be missed, but never forgotten.
With Love,
Robyn Moody
P.S. Her memorial service was wonderful. Your tributes to her, the music, and of course, her music was a lovely tribute to a lovely woman.
