Harry Hoff Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Knesek Family Funeral Chapel - Sealy on Feb. 5, 2026.
Harry Lee Hoff, Jr., 77, passed away February 3, 2026. He came into the world with a bang on July 4, 1948, and was deeply loved by his family, who felt his sudden loss profoundly. Although he faced some health challenges in the fall of 2025, his passing came sooner than anticipated.
Harry was raised in a farming and ranching environment, developing a strong work ethic and practical skills that stayed with him throughout his life. He spent the majority of his working years in manufacturing, serving in supervisory roles and earning the respect of coworkers and colleagues. In his early years, he worked for Schindler Bros. in Sealy, and over the years, he worked for Cameron Iron Works/Cooper Industries and Bellville Tube/US Steel, companies known for supporting the oil and gas and heavy industrial sectors through metal fabrication and specialized equipment production. Later in life, Harry also worked in car sales at Cliff Jones in Sealy, where his friendly personality and easy conversation served him well.
In addition to his professional work, one of his most meaningful roles was caring for some of his grandchildren in Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Alaska. During those times, he became a steady father figure in their lives, creating memories and bonds that will last forever.
Harry will be remembered by many as a sweet and genuinely good man. Friends and family often recall his warm smile, playful jokes, and his remarkable ability to remember numbers and details from years past. He enjoyed working puzzles, especially Sudoku and daily crossword puzzles, often completing them in full. He enjoyed playing dominoes at Meals on Wheels and gathering with the guys at "the round table" at Tony's Restaurant morning and evening. To his family, he seemed to know everything. Harry's life was marked by hard work, humor, and deep love for his family, and his memory will be treasured by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Bonnie McCown Hoff and Elizabeth Madden Hoff; his parents, Harry Lee Hoff, Sr. and Ellen H. (Roggemann) Hoff; and his brother, Weldon Hoff and stepdaughter, Michelle Rogers. He is survived by his children Marie Myers (Darrell), Bellville; David L. Hoff (LeAnn), Hinton, OK; Charles Hoff (Kristi), Bellville; and Donica Portis (Ed), Sealy; and stepson, Trae Rogers (Crystal), Richmond; as well as grandchildren: Bonnie, Zain, Ryan, Dylan, Nicholas, Taryn, Logan, London, Liam, Madison, Julianna, Brielle, Nikki, Daniel, Michael, Cameryn, Kennedi, Brianne, Brooke, and Blake; and great-grandchildren: Landen, Greyson, Brayden, Rhett, Emmett, Skylar, Avery, Evelyn, and Addilyn.
A Celebration of Life service is to be held at Christian City Fellowship, 5243 Hwy 36 N, Sealy on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10 AM.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18 NIV. We are looking forward to eternity!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Harry to Meals on Wheels, 915 Frydek Road, Sealy, Texas 77474.
