Daniel Mazac Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Knesek Family Funeral Chapel - Sealy on Feb. 6, 2026.
Daniel Louis Mazac was born on April 18th, 1942, to Louis John Mazac and Albina Machala Mazac in Sealy, Texas, passed on February 5th, 2026 in Katy, TX.

He grew up in Sealy helping on the family farm growing cotton and tending to livestock. He graduated from Sealy High School in 1960 and remained in Sealy his entire life. He started a family and a career in HVAC. After retiring from commercial HVAC manufacturing, he was able to use his skills on cruise ships allowing him to enjoy many parts of the world.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures of living in small town Sealy, always stopping in for a few pivos with his buddies on his way home from work. He coached his three sons in little league and was a lifelong Astros fan. He always helped with the kids 4H and FFA hogs for the fair, knowing that whoever's animal didn't make sale would be ready for butcher come January. The annual hog butchering and sausage making was always a full weekend event with all hands-on deck, led by Pops and Gingi. Pride was taken in the smoked sausage, liver sausage, cracklings, and bacon that came from that hard work. The camaraderie during these events is unmatched.

Fishing was also a passion for him; he enjoyed setting lines in local rivers and creeks with his family and friends. Later, he enjoyed saltwater fishing at his camp house on the Palacios River. Always an avid fisherman but never a fan of slot limits, Daniel would rather measure a fish with a skillet than a tape measure.

He enjoyed listening to polka and country music especially at the church celebrations. He Wurstfest and made a televis
