Dianne Koltes

Mass of Christian Burial for Dianne Lynn Koltes, age 81, of Fergus Falls, MN will be on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 3 PM at St. Gall's Catholic Church, Tintah, MN. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM on Wednesday, also at the church. Interment at St. Gall's Cemetery. 

 Dianne was born on December 10, 1944, in Fergus Falls, MN to Edmund and Dorothy (Sheehy) Sand. She attended grade school in Wendell, MN and graduated from Elbow Lake High School in 1962. Dianne married the love of her life, Vernon (Toby) Koltes on June 16th, 1962. They lived 4 miles west of Wendell, MN for 52 years where they raised their children, Todd, born in 1963, and Sheri, born in 1968. Dianne volunteered at Lake Region Hospital Auxiliary. When they retired, she and Toby made sure they made it to Granite Falls for every sporting event her grandsons, Austin and Logan, played, making multiple trips a week while her grandsons were growing up. Dianne baked awesome chocolate chip cookies and her specialty, special K bars with peanut butter, loved by all her nieces and nephews. They moved to Park Gardens in September of 2024, and Dianne moved to the memory care in June of 2025. She loved her caregivers there and always made a point to tell them how kind they were and that she loved them.

 She is survived by her husband, Toby Koltes, Fergus Falls, MN, daughter, Sheri (Kurt) Thorstad, Granite Falls, MN, grandsons, Austin (Erika Dilts) Thorstad, Sioux Falls, SD, Logan Thorstad, Granite Falls, MN, and brother, Tom (Carol) Sand, Granite Falls, MN. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, Edmund and Dorothy, and beloved son, Todd.
