Dianne Marie Sennett

Dianne M. Sennett, 89, died peacefully at Sunrise of Troy on July 3, 2023. Dianne is preceded in death by her husband, John H. Sennett (2014), her son Michael (2007), and her two sisters, Margaret (Peggy) and Constance. She is survived by her children: Tom (Janet), Tim, Matt (Beth), and Julie (Mike) as well as her grandchildren: John (Alissa), Rachel (Joseph), Andrew (Kathlyn), Hannah (Julio), Alexander, Anthony, Maggie, and Charlie and her great grandchildren Evelyn and Joseph. She is also survived by her brother Dennis (Virginia) and her sisters Beverly (Michael) and Mary Jill Martin.
Born in Detroit, MI in 1933, Dianne was the eldest of Norman and Margaret Martin's six children. She attended Immaculata High School, attended the University of Detroit and received an honorary Doctorate of Humanities from Madonna University in 2002. Dianne married John H. Sennett on November 28, 1959. They spent their lives in service to their family and to the Church – including direct service via Focus: HOPE, Legatus, the Sacred Heart Seminary, the Cardinal Club, Madonna University, the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre, Angels' Place, and the Knights of Malta. By their example and by inviting their children along, they encouraged their children to do the same.
The family will receive friends Monday (July 10) from 4 - 8 pm with Rosary at 7 pm. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (Between Maple and Big Beaver), 248-362-2500. The Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday (July 11) at 10 am at St. Hugo of the Hills Church, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills. Visitation at church begins at 9:30 am.
