Our beloved father William (Bill) Charles Peebles, age 62, of Ellsworth, Michigan, passed away on the evening of February 14, 2026.
Bill was born in Troy, Michigan to Dorothy and John (stepfather) Peebles. Throughout his life he worked as a butcher, a job he took great pride in and dedicated many years to. He was known for his strong work ethic and for always being willing to lend a hand to those around him.
Outside of work, Bill had a passion for soccer. He spent countless hours coaching young players and refereeing games. Sharing his love and knowledge of the sport but also encouraging teamwork and confidence in those he worked with. He also enjoyed helping around the horse barn, something that brought him joy and kept him connected to the simple things he loved.
Above all else, Bill loved his family. He is survived by his former wife, Karolyn Peebles, and their children: Amber Cruz, Heather (Matthew) Wells, Chaya Peebles, Marriah (Jeremy) Berg, Micah (Sydney) Peebles and Jasmine Peebles. He was a proud grandfather to Missy Cruz, Eva Cruz, Raphael Cruz, Mia VanGuilder and Audi Berg, who brought him great happiness.
Bill also survived by his father John Peebles and his siblings Ken Peebles, Rick Peebles, Anita Peebles and Michelle Wirebaugh. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Dorothy Peebles.
He will be remembered by those who loved him as a hardworking man with a generous heart, someone who enjoyed helping others and spending time doing the things he cared about. The memories he created with his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In honoring his wish to be an organ donor, Bill gave the ultimate gift – helping others live on. His final act of generosity reflects the giving spirit he carried throughout his life.
The children of Bill will hold a Celebration of Life this coming summer.
