Dick Mort

Richard L. 'Dick' Mort age 85, of Lima passed away surrounded by his family Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 3:49 a.m. He was born June 9, 1940, in Lima to the late Waldo and Aleeta E. (Melson) Mort. He married Juanita Ann Lightner July 29, 1964, and she survives in Lima.

Dick was the owner and operator of Mort Trucking. He loved to tinker around working in the garage, maintaining his trucks and restoring old cars. He was a Harley man and loved to ride. Fore most he was a family man. Sundays were for dinners and BBQing and then the cards would come out, Euchre and poker were the games of choice. Dick always enjoyed a quiet day at the lake with his fishing pole. His family will feel his void deeply.

Survivors include 4 children: Robin (Todd) Painter of Sidney, Kimberly Waughtel of Lima, Brenda (Brian) Klinger of Findlay and Eric (Teresa) Mort of Lima, 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a beloved sister Patricia (Bill) Fultz.

He was preceded in death by his twins Richard 'Dickie' Mort and Renee 'Dee Dee' Mort and siblings: Gerald 'Jerry' Mort, Carl 'Gene' Mort and Gloria Houston.

Visitation for family and friends from 12 to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. A time of family sharing will begin at 1 P.M. and burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Shriner's Hospitals.
