Dick Perry Obituary

Dick Chester Perry, Jr. ,90, of Livingston, MT, passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2025, at BeeHive Homes in Belgrade, MT.

He was born February 13, 1935, in Livingston, MT, the son of Dick Chester Perry, Sr. & Helen Eilene (Borden) Perry. (This is what Dick wanted in his obituary.) However, he left behind his loving wife, Cara, and she says: After 44 years of taking care of each other, Dick flew off into the wild blue yonder to heaven to take his little brothers Glenn and Robert fishing. Of course, their sister, Peggy, will go with them--she is carrying the worm can.

Dick attended schools at Willow Creek, Grannis, Clyde Park and received his GED from the Air Force. He served in the Air Force for four years active and four years inactive. Dick raised his family at Maudlow, MT, where he built a lumber mill and supervised the operation until the wood permits ran out. He dismantled the mill and then took a job supervising the Continental Mill in Hill City, S.D. After a lumber mill accident, he was retrained at Cheyenne Aero, Cheyenne, WY where he received his A&P license and an Associates degree in 1 year. He and Cara moved to Greenville, S.C. where he was a supervisor and overhauled aircraft for Lockheed Martin for 14 years. After retiring they moved back to Livingston, MT.

Survivors include his wife, Cara, her children, Robert Woodford, Janie Sue Wood (Gary), Jon Woodford (Heidi), grandchildren Ryan Stillwater (Afreekia) their children our great-grandchildren--Nadya and Nicholas, Jacob Wood and Cara Leigh Wood, son, Dick C. Perry, III (Lynne) their children: Spencer Perry, Ethan Perry (Sarah) and Jacob Perry, daughter, Nora Hutton Lewis and brothers, Jesse Perry, Chuck Perry and Art Perry (Alice).

He is preceded in death by his father, mother, brother Glenn, baby brother, Robert, who only lived 3 hours, sister, Peggy Zeirlien (Leonard) and sister-in-laws, Elsie Perry & Goldie Perry.

As Dick wished, no formal funeral will be held, he will be cremated and buried in the Black Hills National Cemetery of South Dakota at a later date.

Memorials may be sent to BeeHive Homes, 1107 Happy Lane, Belgrade, MT 59714 or to honor Dick & our Lizzie Cat to the Stafford Animal Shelter, 5 Boulder Business Park Road, Livingston, MT 59047.
