Dickie Whitley Obituary

Dickie Glenn Whitley, 71, of Stantonsburg passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Good News Church, 7000 Holdens Cross Road, Stantonsburg, to be followed by private graveside burial for the family. Rev. Thomas Ellis will officiate.

The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 1:00-1:45 pm prior to the service at Good News Church, Stantonsburg.

Dickie was loved by all who knew him. Dickie is survived by his mother, Rachel Whitley of the home; brother, Michael Whitley and wife, Tamara of Elm City; sister, Malissa Parks of the home; brother-in-law James Meier of Wilson; nieces, Sara Copeland and husband, BJ of Williamston, Sabrina Crews and husband, AJ of Wilson; Vicotria Darden and husband, Malik of Rocky Mount, and Bryleigh Whitley of Wilson; nephew, Josh Meier and wife, Alua of Cary; great nieces, Kaiden and Kynzlee Sorensen of Wilson, Hannah Copeland of Williamston, and Maia and Cora Darden of Rocky Mount; great nephews, Kash Sorensen of Wilson, Will Copeland of Williamston, and AJ and Ronan Darden of Rocky Mount.

He was preceded in death by his father, Marion "Dick" Whitley and his sister, Kim Meier.
