Dicky Yates Obituary
He was born on Sunday, November 25, 1956, to Oneal and Mabel (Rose) Yates, at Atoka, OK and was raised by his grandparents Ollie and Everett Yates. Dicky passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at his home in Atoka, OK. He attended Lane Public School. Dicky was a journeyman, bullhauler and rancher. He married Shirlene (Smithart) on Saturday, January 23rd, 1999 at Sherman, TX. They celebrated 24 years together before his passing. Dicky enjoyed his cattle, taking care of them and hauling them.
Dicky is survived by his wife, Shirlene Yates of the home in Atoka, OK; daughter, Shirley Cole of the home in Atoka, OK; grandchildren, Isabella, Maddie and Little Tom; siblings, Nedra Sossamon and husband Bobby of Georgetown, TX, Malinda Howry of New Mexico, Tim Yates of Paris, TX, Dwight Latham of Antlers, OK; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear and loved friends.
Dicky was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ollie and Everett Yates; parents, Oneal and Mabel (Rose) Yates; brothers, IO Yates, Jody Latham; granddaughter, Sadie Alderson.
