Eric Yates Obituary
Eric M. Yates, formerly of Catlettsburg, Ky, passed away on
January 27,2026 at Community Hospice in Ashland, KY after a 6
year battle with cancer.
Born in Ashland, KY on September 10, 1963 to the late J.M. Yates & Neva Conley Yates.
Eric was a 1982 graduate of Boyd County High School. He was a
former volunteer firefighter with 22 years of service with the
Catlettsburg Fire Department. He was a security guard at Mansbach
Metal Company in Ashland, KY for 40 years before retiring in
2025.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents, J.M & Neva Yates & a
great niece, Jena Yates. He is survived by his brother, Tony
(Debbie) Yates in Catlettsburg, KY, nephew Shawn (Becky) Yates in
Ashland, KY & a great nephew James Yates also in Ashland, KY.
The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Station in
Flatwoods, KY & Community Hospice for their excellent care during
this time.
