Diedree Ann Hess, age 80, of
Brighton, CO, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 13, 2024.
Diedree was born in
Terry, Montana, on June 25, 1943, to Hattie (Tschaekofske) and Ivan Ban. She grew up with her brother Larry on the family ranch west of Terry. Diedree attended Terry Schools and graduated in 1961. She attended nurses training in
Dickinson, ND, where she received her LPN.
Diedree dated her high school sweetheart David Hess from Fallon, MT. They were married on November 10, 1962, when they took over the ranch from Ivan and Hattie. Over the years they welcomed Michele Mary, Candice Kay, Pamela Jean, Michael Dean, and Duane Lee to their family. They ran the family farm/ranch until 1983 when they sold it and moved into Terry.
After their move, Diedree worked in retail at the Cenex and Reyman Hardware in Terry. They eventually moved to
Milpitas, CA, in 1986, where she continued working in retail at JJ Newberry's. They relocated to Salt Lake City in 1990 for a year and then to Colorado, where they settled in Broomfield in 1991. She worked at Ace Hardware in Broomfield and then in Brighton. They purchased their home in Brighton in 1996, where they resided until her death.
Diedree loved bowling, wood crafting, gardening, canning, and playing any kind of game. She also enjoyed dancing, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She went on many adventures with her kids and loved experiencing new things like overseas travel, kayaking, alpine slides, ice bumper boating, tubing the river, water parks, escape rooms, and more. She had a great sense of humor and was always ready for some fun.
