Dietta Sue Dodd

Dietta Sue Dodd, age 84 of Cambrigde. On July 17, 2025 Sue "Reached High" and received her wings. Sue was born on January 15, 1941 to the late Glenn Russell Wheeler and Ruth Eleanor (Ogle) Wheeler in Pleasant City, Ohio. Preceded in death by: her parents; a son Steven Michael Long Dodd; a sister Sandra Ann Biedekapp; and a brother Russell W. Wheeler. Survived by: three sons, Robert Glenn Dodd of Cambridge, Craig Allen Long of Columbus and James Dana Dodd of New Concord; five grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and her three special friends, Linda Ely, Bob Meeks, and Carla Kelley. Sue would begin every day with a cup of coffee and a song for the day in her heart. She loved her boys, family and friends dearly. Sue shared her life with brush strokes. Sue was always teaching her passion to paint, on her local TV2 show, "Brushes Up", in her studio workshops, and home. She had the ability to make a beginning artist comfortable and challenge the seasoned artist. During her lifetime Sue painted over 250 murals. Her murals share the history of communities of yesteryear and fill walls where children can see story characters as big as life, creating fun places to learn. Sue Dodd paintings fill the walls of businesses and homes throughout her own community and beyond. Many paintings would go to the highest bidder because Sue would never say "no" to a local charity event. Sue's kind, giving, and patient heart allowed her to see the beauty of this world with her eyes and she recorded it for us with her art.
