Mr. Dillard Arlis Eaton, age 79, of Mt. Airy, passed away on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Village Care of King. He was born on February 17, 1945, in Patrick County to the late Roy and Vera Bowman Eaton. Mr. Eaton proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, and was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 29 years, Doris Ann McCraw Eaton; daughters and sons-in-law, April Berrier (Chuck), Angel Eaton, Debbie Cheek (Sammy), Patricia Smith (Tim), Crystal Hanson; son and daughter-in-law, Earl McCraw (Judy); grandchildren, Allison Bailey, Madison Berrier, Britt Berrier, Jonathan Phillips, Jordan Phillips, Joseph Lawrence, Brad Day, Candy Lawrence, Shelly Lawrence; 5 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; sister Eva Wyatt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clayton Eaton and Valerie, Noel Eaton, Jeanette Eaton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Eaton was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Cody Bailey, Joel McCraw; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jean Young and Claude, Jan Collins and Hassell, Georgia Edwards and Roscoe, Betty Johnson and Bill; brothers, Roger Eaton, Terry Eaton; sister-in-law, Effie Eaton. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mt. Airy with services conducted by Rev. David Tucker. Burial will follow in Mountain View Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Moody’s of Mount Airy is respectfully serving the Eaton family.
