LIMA -- Dimple M Williams Moorman, 87, passed away on January 17, 2026 at Burton's Ridge Assisted Living. She was born at home in Red Jacket, West Virginia on September 26, 1938 to George B and Bessie E (Hinkle) Williams, who preceded her in death. On October 17, 1960 she married Robert "Bob" E Moorman, who passed away on October 16, 2015.
Dimple was the 7th of 12 children and enjoyed caring for her younger siblings as well as her nieces and nephews. Throughout the years, the sisters enjoyed weekend visits, usually in West Virginia, for delicious home cooking with a side of laughter as they reminisced their childhood memories.
Upon moving to Lima, she waitressed at King Burger. There she met a treasured friend, Mickey Arthur as well as her future in-laws, Jim and Ann Colwell. Ann could not wait for her son (Bob) to return home from the Navy to introduce him to Dimple.
She enjoyed being a housewife and wonderful mother to her sons, Rish (Sue) Moorman, Lima, OH and Shawn (Blanka) Moorman, Powell, OH. She cherished her role of Grammy to grandson, Shane (Brianna Pawlowski) Moorman, Pittsburgh, PA.
Dimple is survived by her brothers, Clifford (Betty Lou) Williams, Columbus, OH, Walter (Hazel) Williams, Hilliard, OH and sisters, Anna Jean Francisco, Lexington, KY, Birdie Spencer, Lima, OH and Betty (Mike) Mathys, Lima, OH plus many nieces and nephews.
Family preceding her in death include Wilson (Alice) Williams, Alfred (Verda) Williams, Lorraine (Sidney) Cisco, Ruby (IG) Howard, Nancy (Grat) Fields, Sidney (Mary Ann) Williams, Chet Francisco and Chuck Spencer.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 6:00pm at Chiles - Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Chaplain Mark Lovely to officiate the service. Inurnment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, 2026, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Shawnee Chapel.
