Dimple Mae (Blalock) Kirby, 94, of Calhoun, Georgia, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025. She was born in Ranger, Georgia, on June 4, 1930, to the late Walter and Alma Blalock. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Rayford Kirby; son, Ray Kirby (Helen); brothers, Edward Blalock and Jimmy Blalock; sisters, Myrtle Wood, Eloise Caylor, and Louise Chitwood; and grandson, Casey Tate.
Dimple was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a great cook, seamstress, and homemaker. Dimple was a long-time member of South Calhoun Baptist Church.
Dimple is survived by her daughters, Joyce Blackstock, Trisha Frix, and Sandy Tate (Randy); brothers, CJ Blalock, Boyd Blalock, Harold Blalock, Richard Blalock, Tommy Blalock, Max Blalock, Glenn Blalock, and Donald Blalock; sister, Kay Brown; grandchildren, Jamey Kirby (Melissa), Jennifer Kirby, Shane Tinch (Wendy), Amanda Tinch, Matthew Blackstock (Terri), Amy Wright (Brett), Corey Tate (Amy), and Camron Roberts (Nathan); great-grandchildren, Carter Blackstock, Maddox Rimmer, Spencer Ford (Esther), Emily Roberts, Easton Tate, Mia Tate, Caroline Tate, Keagan Wright, Lynlee Wright, Paris Kirby, Kinzley Kirby, and Raylen Kirby.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at South Calhoun Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM from South Calhoun Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Brannon, Rev. Clifford Free, and Matthew Blackstock officiating. Her body will lie in state from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will be held at Haven of Rest Memorial Park with Bro. Daniel Brown officiating. Pallbearers are Matthew Blackstock, Shane Tinch, Cory Tate, Jamey Kirby, Spencer Ford, and Carter Blackstock.
The Brannon family and staff are honored to serve the family of Dimple Mae (Blalock) Kirby.
