Dineshchandra Master Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home & Crematory - Princess Anne Chapel on Oct. 23, 2024.
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA – Dineshchandra Jayantilal Master took his last breath on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at approximately 12:21pm at the age of 87 years. He died peacefully in his home with his wife and son present.
Dineshbhai was born in Surat, Gujarat, of Western India. He was one of 2 children, the daughter of the late Jayantilal Manmohandas Master and Rama. His family briefly lived in Dahod and Ajmer before settling in Mumbai, India, for his formative years.
On March 7, 1972, he married Sarla Khatiwala in Mumbai. They were married for 52 years in a loving family that produced two children and four grandchildren.
In July 1984, Dineshbhai brought his family across the waters to Atlantic City, New Jersey, in hopes for a better life. In 1987, he and his family settled in Norfolk, Virginia where they owned and operated the Econo Lodge by the Airport. Eventually, as the family grew, they added more hotel properties and moved to Virginia Beach.
Dineshbhai enjoyed listening to and watching classical Bollywood music and movies, American tennis, Indian cricket, and kept up with news, history, and politics from all over the world. He loved striking up conversations with all people and especially loved to play with babies and children, especially the ones in his family.
He is known amongst his family, friends, and community for his affability, sense of humor, loving nature, and overall charm. In 1994, he became a devout memberof the Devotional Associations of Yogeshwar. He valued family, character, integrity, and God above all else.
Survivors include his wife, Sarla; son, Kalpesh; daughter-in-law, Rupal; daughter, Mansi; son-in-law, Sameer; and grandchildren, Daksh (16) and Daivi (16) Master; and Paras (11) and Neelam (9) Jain.
Funeral services will be held at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 10:00am. Interment will be held in India.
